ABOUT US

Margin Fade is dedicated to exploration, storytelling, and thoughtfully crafted travel experiences.

Our Story

Founded by veterans, filmmakers, and disaster responders.

At Margin Fade, we create immersive, purpose-driven films and bespoke travel experiences shaped by a lifetime of service, exploration, and storytelling. Founded by veterans, filmmakers, and disaster responders, our team blends cinematic craft with lived experience in conflict zones, cultural corridors, and disaster-stricken communities. From the chaos of combat to the chaos of Chupinazo, we’ve built our reputation by showing up—cameras ready, boots on the ground.

We believe the world’s most meaningful stories are rarely told from behind a desk. That’s why our team is lean, mobile, and intimately involved with every project we take on—whether it’s a short-form documentary in a disaster zone or a custom-curated journey across five continents.

Producer

Thomas Barrett Ward

A native of Plano, Texas and a 2004 graduate of Texas Christian University, Barrett served over 13 years as an active duty Army officer. Barrett holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Texas in Austin. If not already wearing enough hats, Barrett is lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the acclaimed rock band, MAJOR GLEN, a Denver-based band. Barrett provides an exhaustive knowledge of literature, music, and storytelling.

Barrett met Dennis in 2004 at Fort Knox, where both attended the US Army Armor Officer Basic Course. His career since then has been diverse, including assignment to the 1/509th Parachute Infantry Regiment and as an English literature instructor at West Point. More recently, Barrett taught English literature at the United States Air Force Academy.

Founder / Producer

Dennis Eóghan Clancey

A 2004 West Point graduate, Dennis spent six years as an active-duty Army officer. His service included combat in Iraq’s Triangle of Death as a heavy weapons, air-assault infantry leader in the 101st Airborne Division. He later served in various roles at Army Space and Missile Defense Command.

In 2010, Dennis joined Amazon.com as an operations leader, launching 2 of its then largest fulfillment centers. A standout performer at the company, Dennis was featured in the 2012 Fortune magazine article “How Amazon learned to love veterans.” During two assignments in Europe and one assignment in Canada, he was able to turnaround ailing operations. In 2015, Dennis left Amazon to launch a textile export company. During that year, he also released the award-winning documentary film Chasing Red, in which he is both subject and director.

In 2015, Dennis responded as a volunteer to the Nepal earthquake and Texas floods with Team Rubicon. He joined the staff as a full time employee in September of that year to oversee and support Team Rubicon’s international and domestic disaster operations.
