At the North Cove in the Financial District, Dennis boarded a boat with John Hemingway—grandson of Ernest Hemingway. They traveled to the William Wall, a double-decker platform anchored in the Hudson River and run by the Manhattan Yacht Club. There, with the city lights flickering on and the Statue of Liberty in view, they shared a drink and discussed the essence of Americanism and Hemingway’s legacy of machismo.
